Marie (Maria) Skłodowska-Curie, the Polish winner of two Nobel Prizes, is being celebrated in Poland for the 100-year anniversary of her solo Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1911). Last year, 2010 was the year of Chopin (he seems to be celebrated a lot, but he was especially honored last year. :) I know us CIEE students enjoy the piano-key-shaped crosswalks and the marble benches around Warsaw that play Chopin's music.)
